| Duck Dodge: This year the fleet voted to return to the old "Duck Dodge Ratings", which are a combination of standard PHRF ratings and the experience of each boat over all the races it was in during 2007 and 2008. More weight was given to the standard PHRF rating, but many boats' ratings were changed considerably by the experience factor. The new ratings for the expected boats are found here. |
| Saturday Series: To make it possible for boats with a variety of sailing equipment (new sails vs. old sails) and talent (good crew vs. green crew), the handicapper was asked to objectively rerate the fleet using additional factors not normally used by PHRF. The object is to make it more possible for any boat in the fleet to win on a given day. The new ratings for the expected boats are found here. |
